First dive on Yongala
As advanced divers we had been down to 28m before but not for long, so the dive leader suggested we come down on the first dive with him. I really appreciated that because it was quite a dive.
We had to go down the anchor line, holding on all the way because there was a strong current, and then we let go at around 25m and drifted to the wreck.
Its a really impressive wreck, festooned with coral and HUGE fishes swimming round it. Divers have been coming here for the last 20 years enjoying it. So that there are another 20 years enjoyment the government has protected the wreck and anyone touching it risks a fine of $200+. Good on them I say.
